We invite you to step into Școala Vieții, the place where work is done on many levels — vital, emotional, rational and spiritual — toward the harmonious formation of the child, so that he may become an authentic human being.
This work takes place within the Asociația Bucuria celor necăjiți (the "Joy of the Afflicted" Association), an association dedicated to the Mother of God, where people of great heart prepare children of all ages for life.
Through varied activities arranged into workshops, each child develops skills useful for everyday living, refining their style, but above all intently cultivating good sense by taking up the rules of good manners.
In time, the children become mentors capable of passing on teachings that are serious and useful in life, of creating a sense of well-being and of conveying emotions full of what is natural, normal, good, beautiful and true. Even when they become teachers, the children always remain pupils willing to learn for the next level.
Thus they are prepared for life through the most varied activities and workshops: manners, cooking and confectionery, personal hygiene, housekeeping, handcraft, dexterity and more. We invest all our resources — material and spiritual — so that all who cross our threshold may gain both theoretical knowledge and the tools, models and good-conduct habits, in a practical way.
This way of being becomes an authentic and graceful Modus Vivendi (way of living) for the child, who takes up not only notions and ideas, but also the experience of a life lived in natural communion with everyone else, thus forming a new character.
Together we could bring into children's lives more harmony, joy and kindness.
Modus Vivendi (way of living) was created out of the need to live naturally and beautifully in today's society, which finds itself in a crisis of moral bearings. We do not wish to agree with this crisis; rather, we strive to reform and recalibrate our bearings onto their natural course, learning together about the graceful and the beautiful, about good sense and manners, about what life truly means.
May it be to the benefit of us all!
Școala Vieții was born of a living tradition of goodness passed from person to person: gestures of good breeding, the order of the table, household skills and a carefully guarded inner composure. Tradition is not, for us, a museum, but a wellspring — a way of living that we receive, live out and pass on to the children who cross our threshold.
Behind every workshop stand people of great heart: mentors, volunteers and trainers who place their time, their skill and their love in the service of the children. They pass on not only knowledge, but also a living example of good conduct. Gradually, the children themselves become mentors, carrying onward what they have received.
Good order is the foundation of any serious work. The rules of Școala Vieții naturally set out the rhythm of the day, the routine of the workshops and the norms of good breeding, so that every child may grow within a safe, orderly framework full of respect. Parents and children receive these guidelines at the beginning of their participation in Școala Vieții.
The Școala Vieții magazine gathers together the children's work, thoughts and joys: recipes learned at the cooking workshop, lessons in good manners, testimonies and photographs from the life of the community. It is a living page that preserves and shares the fruits of a whole year's work.
Școala Vieții is, above all, a community. Children, parents, mentors and friends of the association live together the experience of a life in natural communion — at the table, at work, at prayer and in helping those in need. From this shared life are born character and the joy of being together.
Tradition is not, for us, a museum, but a wellspring. All that we receive — good breeding, skills, faith — we live out and pass on to the children, so that goodness may not be lost.
We would be glad to get to know you and to answer your questions.
